What to visit around Vico Equense, Pompeii and Positano

La Tuja Relais Du Parc is located in Seiano, a charming hamlet of Vico Equense: from here, guests can visit the nearby Fernando De Gennaro dairy, the beautiful partner beaches of Marina di Seiano, or the churches perched above the sea, falling in love with the extraordinary views offered by the Sorrento Coast.

By heading to the Port of Seiano, just 1 km away, or taking the Circumvesuviana railway line, guests can reach in just a few minutes some of the most iconic destinations around Vico Equense and the Gulf of Naples, such as Pompeii, Positano, Gragnano and Castellammare di Stabia.

Vico Equense

Vico Equense is considered the gateway to the Sorrento Coast. Framed by the Lattari Mountains and Mount Faito behind it, it rises on a tuff promontory that slopes gently down to the sea.

Vico Equense’s varied landscape allows visitors to discover the area through a range of different experiences: from a visit to the medieval Giusso Castle, to the beaches of Marina di Seiano, and the views to be admired from churches perched above the sea, such as the renowned Church of the Santissima Annunziata. Added to all this is the opportunity to savour the local culture by visiting the dairies of Vico Equense, which still preserve the authentic art of cheesemaking.

Pompeii

During a stay at La Tuja Relais Du Parc, a tour of Pompeii is not to be missed. Guardian of Roman civilisation and its remains, this place was frozen in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79, offering the opportunity to rediscover the history of ancient Rome through the Forum, the temples, the theatres, the Villa of the Mysteries, and some of the site’s most celebrated frescoed domus, such as the House of the Faun and the House of the Vettii, within the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.

Gragnano

Just 20 minutes from La Tuja Relais Du Parc lies Gragnano, the renowned city of pasta and a symbol of Campanian authenticity. Famous for producing and exporting large quantities of high-quality pasta, this tradition is now preserved by 15 renowned pasta makers united under the PGI designation.

Its centuries-old history dates back to Roman times, shaped by wheat milling and the force of the water in the Valle dei Mulini, making Gragnano an unmissable destination for discovering the secrets of local producers and enjoying first-hand experiences and tastings dedicated to one of the most iconic products of Italian cuisine.

Castellammare di Stabia

Castellammare di Stabia, just a 15-minute drive from La Tuja Relais Du Parc, lies at the gateway to the Sorrento Peninsula and, between sea and hills, still preserves precious traces of the Roman era, such as the archaeological site of Stabiae and the otium villas open to visitors, including Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco.

Also worth visiting are the Grotta di San Biagio, an ancient quarry later transformed into a Christian place of worship; the Reggia di Quisisana, now home to the Libero D’Orsi Archaeological Museum of Stabiae and overlooking the Gulf of Naples; and Mount Faito, which can also be reached by its historic cable car.
